The Envirothon

If you have a group of high school aged students that are interested in the environment, then be sure to read on about the annual Envirothon competition! This competition tests student’s knowledge about five separate areas of the environment: soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic biology, and a current environmental issue. Preparing for the competition often involves contact with professionals in environmental fields. Topics can be worked into most science curriculums, so that preparation for the event can be an integrated part of the school year. If a team does well at the local competition, there is an opportunity to move onto the state level, and even to the national level, where teams compete for scholarship money. If you are interested in entering a team, please call the district at (330) 929-2871 to request an entry form. Check out this website for more information. www.envirothon.org
