Stream Monitoring
This is a wonderful, hands-on, educational opportunity to help
determine the health of a river or stream by examining the type of
critters or macro invertebrates that live there. This is a great
activity for scout troops, biology classes or anyone interested in
learning about the water quality of our creeks and streams.

Storm Drain Marking

Your neighborhood has "windows" that drain to natural waterways. When
it rains, these storm drains or sewers carry the rain water to the
nearest stream, river or lake. Unfortunately rainwater isn't the only
thing to enter these drains- pollutants can too! You can help stop water
pollution! Storm drain marking is a great activity for students and
other groups. The marker that is glued to the curb or drain, identifies
them as windows to your local waterway! Keep them clean. Contact your
local community or the district office at 330-929-2871 for more
information. |
